South Kentucky RECC Co-op Connections Card: Saving Our Members Even More Money Seven years ago, South Kentucky RECC introduced the Touchstone Energy Co-op Connections Program to help our members save money when they dined out, made purchases, or stayed in hotels. In 2008, the program changed to include a prescription savings, which saved South Kentucky RECC members more than $80,000 in 2011 alone on prescriptions.
The SKRECC Touchstone Energy Co-op Connections card now offers members significant savings on lab and imaging services, chiropractic, dental, vision, and hearing care. The new Healthy Savings package is available at no cost to SKRECC members who print paper cards from www.healthysavings.coop and show it at participating providers along with their plastic cards, or stop by their local co-op office to get a special sticker put on their existing card. This brand-new benefit is part of a commitment to helping SKRECC members save money during these challenging economic times. The discount program is NOT insurance and cannot be used in conjunction with insurance; however, for SKRECC members who may not have insurance that covers prescriptions or certain health services, this could offer significant savings. South Kentucky RECC member services and marketing team leader Alan Coffey said, “The Healthy Savings package will help our members stretch their paychecks and underscores that South Kentucky RECC is always looking out for its members. “Our mission statement says that SKRECC is ‘for people, not profit,’ and that we will work to improve the quality of life in our communities. The Co-op Connections card is one way that we can do that.” To locate providers that participate in the Healthy Savings program, call 800-800-7616 with your card handy or visit www.healthysavings.coop. Examples of savings through the Healthy Savings program include 10 to 60 percent off eyeglasses, contact lenses, and eye exams; 20 to 40 percent discounts on a range of dental care services; and 30 percent off chiropractic treatments. “Many insurance plans do not include provisions for dental, hearing, and vision care, which means many people do not receive these much-needed services. With the new Healthy Savings package, SKRECC members get no-cost access to five discounted health benefit areas: vision, dental, hearing, lab imaging, and chiropractic care,” said Coffey. Click the “Print My Card” link to print a paper version of the card to show with your plastic card at providers for services.
