South Kentucky RECC Has New Vice-President
South Kentucky RECC now has a new Vice-President of
Engineering and Operations. Long-time employee Steve Conover, who has been with
the co-op for more than 30 years, has been promoted to fill the vacancy left by
the leaving of Carol Wright.
Conover began his career at South Kentucky RECC in 1976
as an assistant staking engineer. It was that same year that he received his
Associates of Science in Electrical Engineering from Somerset Community
College. Steve went on to be promoted to Planning Engineer, then later to a
supervisory position.
In 2002, he received his Bachelor of Science in Public
Administration, and the next year, he became the Engineering Team Leader for
South Kentucky RECC. Conover followed up by obtaining his Masters in Business
Administration in 2004.
SKRECC CEO Allen Anderson says Conover was the perfect
choice for the position.
The experience that Steve brings to the position of
Vice-President of Engineering and Operations is extremely valuable. He has been
in many different levels and positions at the co-op, and he is familiar with
its workings. With this job comes a great deal of responsibility the
person has to know and understand our system, be able to make major impact
decisions pertaining to our system, and be able to handle emergency situations.
We felt that Steve fit the bill perfectly and will do an excellent job for
South Kentucky RECC in this position.
Steve Conover and his wife, Pam, reside in Russell County
and have one son, Brett.
