SKRECC Participates 2nd Annual Kentucky Lineman’s Rodeo
Fourteen electric cooperatives from across the state, including South Kentucky RECC, sent teams to East Kentucky Power Cooperative in Winchester to compete in the second annual Kentucky Lineman’s Rodeo on July 28.

More than 70 linemen competed in such events as the recloser (OCR) change-out, insulator change-out, hurt man rescue, and speed climb. In addition, apprentice lineman also took a written test and participated in the cross-arm relocation event.

Lineman rodeos place emphasis on safety, and participants receive scores for the events based on the proper construction techniques and safety precautions.

Those participating from South Kentucky RECC were Ish Helton, Dan Ware, Barney Singleton, Phillip Walker, Jon Slavey, Jeff Mize, Mark Wilson, Dennis Reynolds, Andy Edmon, Mike Ramsey, Brian Taylor, Mike Daniels, and apprentice Chris Cain.
