RICK HALLORAN
Rick has been a resident of Pulaski County for over 50 years. He graduated from Somerset High School in 1983, and Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1988. Since 1996, he has had a successful insurance career as well as managing/owning several rental properties located in Pulaski County and throughout Kentucky. Rick resides in Somerset with his wife Lisa and their two children, Hunter and Hailey, where they attend First Baptist Church of Somerset.
Rick currently serves on the South Kentucky RECC Board of Directors and has since 2011, acting as chairman from 2012 -2017. He also serves on the Kentucky Electric Cooperative Statewide Board of Directors, representing South Kentucky RECC from 2012 to present. He also served on the Cumberland Valley National Bank Advisory Board in the Somerset location from 2019-2022.
Rick feels absolutely blessed to have had the opportunities that he has in life, being raised in Southern Kentucky in a Christian home, where friends are family and the sky is the limit if you are willing to get up in the morning and work for it.
When Rick began serving on the SKRECC Board in 2011, he made a commitment to the members-owners that he would never have his own agenda, but he would listen to the members and be their voice. He has been able to take his day-to-day experiences of working with his own employees and balancing his own companies’ budgets to the South Kentucky RECC boardroom.
Rick would like to continue serving as a South Kentucky RECC Director in order to provide a voice in the decision-making processes of one of the most important utilities provided to businesses and residents of Southern Kentucky. His experience the past 12 years, as well as his advanced director training in rural electric cooperatives, make him truly qualified to continue serving the members of South Kentucky RECC.
