SKRECC members Michael & Julie Peterson are the Who Powers You 3rd Place Winners

Michael and Julie Peterson, members of South Kentucky RECC, are third-place winners of the 2025 Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives’ Who Powers You contest. For the past 12 years, they have led Project 58:10, a ministry dedicated to feeding children facing food insecurity in our community.

What began with packing just 50 food bags a week has grown into a countywide effort serving 22 schools, four libraries, and Head Start programs, providing more than 800 food bags each week—and over 35,000 bags annually. Supported by local churches, volunteers, businesses, and community partners, the Petersons have never turned away a child in need.

Their award will be reinvested into Project 58:10 to help feed even more children. We’re proud to serve members who truly power our communities through compassion and service.
