South Kentucky RECC Celebrates Remarkable Safety Milestone
South Kentucky RECC is proud to announce a significant achievement in workplace safety, having surpassed 500,000 work hours without a lost time accident. This remarkable milestone reflects the cooperative’s continued commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and prioritizing employee well-being.
Lost time accidents are incidents that result in an employee missing scheduled work due to injury. Achieving nearly two years without such incidents highlights the effectiveness of South Kentucky RECC’s safety measures, comprehensive training programs, and strong safety culture.
This achievement is a direct result of the cooperative’s focus on safety and the proactive actions taken by all employees to identify and eliminate potential hazards in the workplace. It emphasizes the importance of teamwork and vigilance in ensuring a safe environment for everyone.
This milestone is particularly significant for South Kentucky RECC, as it marks only the second time in the cooperative’s history that such an achievement has been reached— the first occurrence took place approximately 20 years ago.
"Reaching this safety milestone is a reflection of the unwavering commitment our employees have to looking out for one another and doing the job the right way—every time," said Kevin Newton, South Kentucky RECC President & CEO. "Safety is not just a goal at South Kentucky RECC; it's a core value that guides every decision we make. I’m incredibly proud of our team for fostering a culture where safety always comes first."
Thanks to its exceptional safety record, South Kentucky RECC is now eligible for the prestigious Governor's 500,000 Hour Safety Award.
South Kentucky RECC continues to emphasize the importance of safety and remains committed to cultivating a culture of safety, training, and teamwork. The cooperative looks forward to building on this success and achieving even more milestones in the future.
