Annual Meeting Was a Huge Success!
The rain and weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of the nearly 10,000 people who attend the 71st edition of South Kentucky RECC’s Annual Membership Meeting held on June 4. There were about 2,409 members registered.

Maintenance or Mayhem: Good Rights-of-Way Can Prevent Outages
There is no way to keep Mother Nature from doing as she pleases, as proven by the ice storm that paralyzed a large portion of Kentucky in January and February. However, South Kentucky RECC can work now to minimize the effects of another ice storm, a thunderstorm, a tornado, or even high winds.

Concerned about Energy Costs?
Most people are. As a not-for-profit distributor of electricity to more than 65,000 homes and businesses in south central Kentucky, South Kentucky RECC shares those concerns. Our mission is to provide a comfortable living and working environment for our members at the most affordable cost. But we’re finding it to be one of the most challenging years we’ve faced since our cooperative was formed in 1938.

Be Prepared For Ice Storms
Some areas of the country have already felt the blasts of winter wind, precipitation and fluctuating temperatures that can result in severe freezing rain, sleet and ice storms. A heavy build-up of ice on power lines can cause wires to snap and utility poles to topple. Falling ice-laden trees or limbs can bring down power lines, cause outages, and threaten life and property.

When Winter Winds Blow
If forecasts are to be believed, then the winter of 2009 may be one of the coldest that the South Kentucky RECC area has suffered in several years. What can the homeowners of South Kentucky RECC do to save energy this winter?

Making Service Simple
South Kentucky RECC’s members expect professional and prompt service, and they want to do business at their convenience. In an effort to be able to assist members right at the moment they need it, we are installing a new state-of-the-art system specifically for this purpose.

Helping Our Communities Grow
When you think of an electric cooperative, you don’t necessarily think of community growth, unless you are speaking of poles and wires to a new subdivision. However, several years ago, SKRECC leaders decided the time had come for the co-op to take a more proactive approach in an effort to help each of its communities grow.

New Clinton County Office Opens
